We Are The Vorg!
Be Afraid.
About This Site
We are here for you, the reader. That is a lie, but if you choose to believe it, we will not disillusion you. That would be cruel. We are here for us. This site is a platform -- a soapbox, if you will -- to tell the world what we think, what we feel, and to show it what we are capable of, artistically speaking.
The primary impetus of this site is to entertain and, if at all possible, inform. The world, as we perceive it, can be a big and scary place and it can be nice to get a handle on it. You will not find that sort of assistance here. Instead you will find a great way to distract yourself from it!
At this moment, our offerings are centered around our Game. The Vorg Game is a traditional, pencil-and-paper game of creativity, imagination, and storytelling. As the site grows we will be introducing you, dear reader, to worlds near and far, the beings who inhabit them and their stories, and you can help!
The site you see now, and the early growth that occurs almost daily here, is but the foundation for what is to come. Here, at the Internet home of the mighty Vorg, one will eventually be able to journey within the worlds presented here and take an active role in deciding their fates. On the far horizon gleams the empire that is to come: Online events, electronic gaming goodnesses, and a player-controlled multiverse. All for free.
Yes, free, as in speech and beer, the best kind of free. After all, what is the point in creating something wonderful, if only the priveleged few may experience it?
Until then: Enjoy.
About The Vorg
We of the Vorg, or We of the V if you prefer, are a group of intelligent and creative individuals whose desire for self-expression may occasionally overwhelm rational thought, biological wants and needs, and the ability to function in society. While regurgitating our many, varied creations across the World Wide Web will not help with those things, it will, at least, keep us busy.
As a group of superhuman demi-gods from a place buried so deep in the mortal psyche that to merely speak of it might turn reality inside-out and negate all of Creation, our powers are far beyond the reckoning of Man- or even Womankind. What we are, you can never know. Who we are, however, we can share with you.
- Matthew R. Hales, Keeper of the Known Universe, Lord High Vorgon, Master of Fates and Webs - In his human guise, Matthew is a simple, small-town boy from rural Podunk, USA. His honest and hardworking exterior hides the darkly creative soul within and few truly know anything of consequence about him. He has been developing a fictional reality incorporating dozens of worlds, hundreds (if not thousands) of characters, and super-science technologies the world may, and probably should, never see for the last twenty-five years.

- Send him email
- Witness the horror of Conformity! A MySpace Page? Really? Ew.
- Todd A. Pribble, Keeper of Empire City, Vorgon of Reason, Master of Frequency Modulation - To better infiltrate the human flock, Todd disguises himself as a genuinely good person, a textbook Mr. Nice Guy. He has worked closely with Matthew and, together, they built Empire City, brick by brick. When not reigning in the outlandish ideas of his fellow Vorgons, he poses as a local celebrity. At the moment, our face man is hard at work finding a new venue through which the insidious power of the Vorg may be spread.
- Michael B. Terry, Keeper of the Promaconean
Protectorate, Vorgon Historian, Master
of the Irrelevant - When not masquerading as a
mild-mannered family man from the American Midwest, Micheal
keeps busy destroying isolated towns with zombie plagues and
happily ending the existance of supposedly-immortal,
plane-shifting wizards like himself. As Historian, it is
Micheal's job to keep track of where we have been in order to
better see where we are going. He is solely responsible for
Mother Promacon and the planets within the pervasive
Protectorate.
It is just possible he should be working a bit harder. Really, where's all the info on Promacon? - Read his stupid blog
About The "Vorg"
The real story and meaning (or so we claim) behind the word "Vorg" is actually quite simple: there is none. The original conception for this site would have had it be located at V.org, but that is a reserved domain by the Internet Assigned Number Authority and is, therefore, not available, ever, apparently. Simple, yes? But why "V.org" and not, say, "Q.org" or some other letter? Does the letter "V" have some special significance? Nah. We just thought it was cool.
For those who would be interested in that sort of thing, here are some interesting quirks concerning this symbol:
- The letter "V" is the 22nd letter of the modern Latin alphabet.
- The glyph that forms the letter "V" is the same as that of the Roman numeral 5.
- Beethoven's Fifth Symphony is the one that goes "da da da dum".
- Morse code for the letter "V" is represented by three dots (or short tones) and one dash (or long tone). Spoken, it would be "dit dit dit dah".
- The three dot, one dash emblem was emblazoned on all sorts of household items in celebration of V-E Day (Victory in Europe during the Second World War).
- In the NATO phonetic alphabet, the letter "V" is "Victor", which means, roughly, "winner".
- The letter "V" is the atomic symbol of the chemical element vanadium, the atomic weight of which is 23 (and 2+3=5, or the Roman numeral V). Vanadium is used in speciality alloys found in medical instruments, electrical fuel cells, automotive components and jet engines.
- A type of internal combustion engine configuration is known as a "V engine". They can range in size from a V-twin (2 cylinders) up to a V24.
- The symbol for the volt (the potential difference across a conductor when a one ampere current dissipates one watt of power) is V, named for Alessandro Volta.
- The letter "V" has figured prominently in both television series (plural) and films, as well as comic books, periodicals and novels. Two miniseries and a regular series, entitled V, V: The Final Battle, and V: The Series, respectively, aired during the early-mid eighties with a sequel miniseries to air in 2009. The titular character of comic book and film V for Vendetta is perhaps the most well known of such popular culture references.
- In American Sign Language, the letter "V" is represented by extending the first two fingers, parted, with the rest of the digits curled into the palm which is held away from the body. This same hand gesture is alternately taken to be a symbol of peace (although the original meaning to the hippies was "love"), and also "V for Victory". Placed behind the head of another, often in photographs, it is known as "bunny ears" or "giving bunny ears" which is considered comical, if somewhat childish. With the palm facing the signer, often with the arm extended forward somewhat, this same gesture is considered insulting and is often used to signify defiance.
The glyph of the letter "V" can form
a rudimentary Seal of Solomon. In its usual orientation, the
glyph may represent the female aspect: the chalice. Flipped
so that it "points" upward, it represents the male aspect: the
blade. The two interlocked glyphs (which forms a rudimentary
six-pointed star) represents, according to Hermetic Kabbalah, the
divine union of male and female energy and derives four triangular
symbols, two crossed and two uncrossed, to represent the four
elements. The nearby illustration attempts to illustrate this,
poorly. A better version may be forthcoming, maybe not. Got
time? Great, contribute!- While the letter "V" is not used very frequently in the Basic English Language (along with "J", "K", "W", and "Y"), it is part of some very fun words.
- Star Wars: Episode V (The Empire Strikes Back) is arguably the best of the saga.
About the Razor
We do not yet know much about it, actually... What is known: It is imprinted with apparent maker's marks. On one side is an insignia with the legend "BEAU BRUMMEL" below which is the number 35. On the reverse side of the neck is stamped "BRUMMEL-WERK" and "Solingen-Germany"
Vorgsoul keeps it in easy reach because it, he says, "has panache". Like, as opposed other sorts of weapons.
If we ever find out any more about it, if anyone even cares, we'll post it here. ;-)
